Did you know that for consignment sales there is no transaction value at the time of importation?
This refers to goods
dispatched to the country of importation not as a result of a sale, but with
the intention that they would be sold on behalf of the supplier, at the price
obtainable. At the time of importation, no sale has taken place, and the goods
remain the property of the foreign supplier until, after importation, they are
sold through a selling agent at the best price. Hence there is no transaction value
for these goods at the time of importation.
